Daily Dew Devotional THEME: FINISHING STRONG | THURSDAY December 11, 2025

The Strength of the Lord

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV): “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 is a powerful verse that emphasizes the rewards of trusting in God and relying on Him for strength. The phrase “those who wait on the Lord” refers to actively trusting and relying on God. It implies patience and hope in God’s timing and provision. This waiting is not passive but involves continual dependence on God, seeking His guidance and strength.

The promise that they “shall renew their strength” suggests that those who place their hope in God will find their strength replenished. In moments of weariness and fatigue, God provides the necessary strength to persevere. This also includes the ability to rise above challenges. Eagles are known for their powerful flight and ability to soar high in the sky, symbolizing spiritual elevation and freedom that comes from trusting God.

To finish strong depends on our drawing strength from God, not relying solely on ourselves. Isaiah 40:31 concludes with a profound promise of renewed strength for those who wait on the Lord. Like eagles soaring high, we are lifted when we place our hope in Him and continue our journey with perseverance.

Depend on the Lord’s strength, and He will empower you to finish strong. “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31)
